Academic Test Scoring


Another flexible non-phone option for work from home is test scoring. Some companies hire at-home workers to score standardized tests, essays, and more.

ETS, ACT and Pearson (listed below) require certain qualifications and experience.

WriteScore (also listed below) requires a two-year college degree.

  • ACT – Open to US only. It's possible to earn between $10 to $15 hourly depending on your speed. The ACT writing test assesses individuals writing skills and is often taken alongside other reading or English exams.

  • ETS – Open to US and occasionally other countries. Pay is between $10 to $20 hourly depending on the project. Payments are made twice monthly.

  • Measurement, Inc. – Open to US. Pay may be around $11 hourly.

  • Pearson – Open to US and people authorized to work in the US. Pay is $10 and more per hour. Get paid via direct deposit.

  • WriteScore – Open to US only. It's possible to earn between $10 to $15 hourly depending on your speed.
